My Yoga Challenge
You know how much Hospice means to me, and now more than ever Doane House Community Hospice and Margaret Bahen Residential Hospice need our help. Covid -19 has impacted the world as we know, but for charites that depend on philanthropy this has really hit them hard.
The Hospices need to raise approximately $850,000 annually to ensure the residents and clients are able to access all that hospice can give, at no cost to them. This support starts from diagnosis of a life threatening illness, by supporting with wellness and mindful programs. Walking along side an individual and their family as they navigate the system and commence treatments, then for many, the staff are able to say goodbye, as the individual goes into remission, and back to a new normal. Caregiver support is such an impotrtant piece as they are on that journey with their loved one and also need a kind ear to listen to their fears and hopes. With having a residential hospice now, they are able to offer the full continum of care, and have that safe place for someone coming to end of life to be, if home isn't an option. Anticipatory grief and bereavement is offered through different modalities to support the families and friends when a death occurs, whether a sudden death, traumatic death or by illness. This is why I am helping to support our community hospices, they do an awesome job, and we are all going to need some of this support at one time or another.
I am going to commit to doing Yoga, for the month of August, this is something I love to do, but haven't yet made this part of my regular daily life, so here goes, I have said it out loud now, so have to follow through!
I hope you will support my efforts for a cause that means so much to me, either by donating or joining my team and taking on an activity challenge of your own. Thank you.
